Who we are

Sadhana Smriti is an independent project by practitioners, run from Nepal. It is not affiliated with Isha Foundation.

You can reach us at sadhanajournal@duck.com.

What we keep

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. As you use the app, we store the practices you set up and each log you make: the session, the time, the type of place, and the GPS point and place if you allowed location. We also keep your places, experiences, sharings, travels and the photos you upload, along with your sign-in sessions. Our servers keep ordinary request logs, without query strings, in rotating files for a limited time.

What others can see

Other practitioners see the community map, which shows how much practice happens in an area but never a person; shared places with their photos; and the experiences people chose to share, under a pseudonym unless they chose to show their name. Your home, work and other private places are never shown. Sittings there are only ever counted within a large area, together with other practitioners. Your journal itself is never public.

What we use it for

We use your data to run your journal and the map, and for nothing else. There is no advertising, no selling of data, and no profiling.

Who else sees it

Google, for sign-in and the fonts the app loads; Oracle Cloud in Mumbai, where the app is hosted; and OpenStreetMap, which delivers the map background. Nobody else.

How long we keep it

We keep your data until you delete your account. Backups on the server keep a copy for up to seven days after that.

Your choices

Location and sharing are optional. You can export your journal as a CSV file from Settings › Account. To delete your account, email us from the address you sign in with, and we will remove everything: your logs, places, experiences, sharings, travels and profile. A shared place that others have logged at stays on the map, no longer linked to you.

Age

Sadhana Smriti is for practitioners aged 18 and over.
